Just had a phonecall from dd's teacher, she's 4.5 in reception. She said that yesterday there was in incident in which dd wanted to help tidy up an area of the classroom, and another child said she couldn't so dd SPAT at the other child. (I have never known her to spit at anyone, ever before). Reception teacher says she has sorted it out and we shouldn't mention it to dd but I am utterly horrified at her behaviour, not to mention embarrassed! Sorry, just wondered if anyone else had experience of spitting?!

Sorry but lol. I'm sure it is just a one off, a way of expressing her frustration. Her teacher is right, say nothing unless it happens again.

it sounds like teacher sorted it out so i'd put this down to tiredness and needing a holiday

Ooops! Little Pickle!! Don't worry, as the other poster said, she probably has had a gutful of school for this term. Enjoy your holiday. A one off I'd say if it's out of character.

I spat at someone when I was at primary school, under severe provocation. Don't worry, I never did it again
