Hi All
Even I asked questions here and recieved many kind replies, we still have no decided where to live yet, sadly~ :(

Our daughter is going to study at Godstowe prep and my wife will be studying in oxford , is there any place you could recommend to live in between? Our budget is GBP2500 per month for house rent

I am thinking a spot like 10 minutes to godstowe by car and 30 minutes to oxford by car, any ideas?

thanks again :)

Bear 🐻 n mind that at nursery /?reception level there are birthday parties pretty much every weekend and it's how your daughter will be making friends. You don't want to be doing great long commutes to see her friends all the time

I will not be working, so I am flexible
brooks has "zero car" policy, which is really troublesome~~

I am collecting all information so I could talk to DW, but so far, ....looks bad ...

KatyBerry I was tail end of Fitzy and Mrs A's interim period. I left the term before Mrs H took over. You?

With regards the travel to playdates and parties, I think you'll be doing that wherever you live. Godstowe has a very wide catchment. I only had one friend in Wycombe, everyone else was at least a 30 minute drive for birthday parties. And then once I turned 8 and started being friends with boarders there were fewer playdates and more going to stay for a week in the holidays!

Fully immersed in the reign of the terrible fitzy! Was a broader so double whammy with miss elder.
You're right about broad catchment- I'm about 15 miles away and girls further out than us travel in daily (I remember one really glamorous day girl party I went to at Skindles nightclub in Maidenhead!)

If you're not working, presumably you can do school drop offs & pick ups and your wife can get herself to Uni. In which case, as your wife won't be able to park, the crucial thing is to work out how she can get to Oxford Brookes using public transport. If your DD is only 3, then your pick up for her won't be in rush hour so you might be able to face a longer drop off in the morning. Also, whilst the train station in Oxford is no go for Oxford Brooke's, the train station in High Wycombe is probably only a 10 min walk to Godstowe so that could be an alternative route to school for you. When I used to commute into London from HW, you'd see some Godstowe children getting off the train.
I know Godstowe has a brilliant reputation and I have friends whose DDs are very happy there but I also have friends whose DDs are very happy at Headington Girl's. Wouldn't life be easier all round if you & your wife were in almost the same place?

I was just thinking - you ought to check that your wife will be at Brookes' Headington campus and not Wheatley or Harcourt Hill.
