I wouldn't bother - but then I hate dd's teachers!

saadia · 29/03/2007 11:43

I wouldn't.

LilyLoo · 29/03/2007 11:44

sorry meant to say 'class'

dc's took flowers in today for theirs.

Dinosaur · 29/03/2007 11:45

No. Having to buy Christmas presents and something at the end of the school year for each of them is quite enough.

I don't buy Easter presents for anyone else either, mind.

not meaning to cause offence to anyone, so dont take it that way but, i am absolutely dreading my kids starting school as it seems the norm to buy teachers presents! WTF???!!?

Dinosaur · 29/03/2007 11:49

I agree, LOTF. But I think they (the teachers I mean) really appreciate stuff that the children have made themselves - it doesn't have to be all expensive.

LilyLoo · 29/03/2007 11:51

I know LDF although we did get nursery teachers something at christmas. I not really sure what to do myself. I agree with Dinosaur in a way but don't want to seem tight or be caught out when everyone else arrives with something either.DS would feel quite upset about it i think if that happened.

Thats a nice idea Dinosaur maybe he could make her something.

Think the majority don't in our school. Mine are giving a pot of daffodils - if I was really organised they would plant and grown them themselves, but as I never am I just buy one and wrap in greeen tissue paper. Maybe next year!

princesscc · 29/03/2007 13:34

We normally pick daffs from the garden to give the teachers, looks like I'll have to buy them this year tho - they've been & gone already!

Ah LOfTF - why? Its nice to show the teachers you appreciate them isn't it! You don't need to spend much. Infact, I make sure I don't spend more that £3. Agree about homemade stuff. dd has made choc truffles for them at xmas for the last couple of years. Also, I am a cm and whilst I don't expect anything from my parents, I always do and it makes my job all the more worthwhile. Also buy for Guiders too (I'm one of them too)

Themis · 29/03/2007 13:55

Christmas & end of summer term is sufficent I think.

totaleclipse · 29/03/2007 13:57

DS will be making easter cakes to take in on his last day (tomorrow) enough each for the children and teachers.

Enid · 29/03/2007 13:57

I am making dd1s teacher a plate of suzywong brownies for validating some passports for us

but otherwise no, I wouldnt bother

tortoiseSHELL · 29/03/2007 13:58

I'm going to get ds1 to make some truffles and a little basket or something, same for playgroup (to share!!!).

HotCrossPenguin · 29/03/2007 14:05

I usually do, but this year I can't be arsed. Haven't bought my kids eggs yet!

LilyLoo · 29/03/2007 15:52

Might just let him make a card then this evening and pick some dafs thats a nice thought.

Not at Easter, though I know lots who do.

Hulababy · 29/03/2007 18:08

I haven't. I think a couple of DD's classmates might have though. Didn't realise I was supposed to! As an ex teacher, I have never received an Easte rpresent before.

Might get DD to make a card tonight to take in!
