Choosing the ideal tutor/ tuition centre

With the plethora of tuition centres out there, I was just wondering what makes you mums out there choose one tutor/ tuition centre/ enrichment class, over another? Are you happy that sessions tend to be computer-based rather than pencil and paper- based? Or would you prefer a combination of the two? Also, I know that some 'tutors' at some centres are 'trained' rather than being qualified teachers. Does that bother you?

Are you looking for a tutor?

Because you have to ficus very much on exactly what your DC's needs are, not necessarily what feels' right to you as a parent.

Also what style tutoring depends very much on why you are doing it. Working on a particular area where your DC is struggling is quite different for 11+ exam technique.

If you are attracted to a computer based option, it might be worth pausing and arranging for your DC to learn to touch type first. They can start quite young - how old is your DC?
