Reigate and Redhill primary schools, any to avoid?

We're moving there from abroad in August, so we won't be able to visit any before my daughter starts school. I realise I'll probably have to take what I'm given as they all seem over subscribed, but are there any that I should really try to avoid?
Any help would be appreciated!

It depends where you will be living? In reality though you will just be given where there are spaces. What year group?

St matthews and Salfords.are both in special measures and probably the only Schools with places. St matthews is.in Redhill and Salfords just south.

You may get lucky though.
Also Reigate has split infants and junior so you get another bit at the cherry for year 3.

Is private an option?

Private isn't really an option, no. Having said that if it's that or a special measures school I might have to get my butt back to work and make it an option!
My daughter will be starting Year 1.

Oh and we don't have a house yet either! Trying to keep calm about the whole thing! !
I have found 2 nice looking houses around the Cockshot Hill area, it doesn't look great on street view but I think I've just forgotten what it's like to live in a big town, is it an ok area or one to avoid? ?
Thanks so much!

Ok so.cockshot hill is a fairly busy road but pretty central.

If your daughter is going into year 1 last year's Reception intake was very squeezed in Reigate and there were lots of Reigate families that got offered Salfords much to their dismay. I know.a few that have gone private and some.who have gone there and said its ok.

If you were to live.on cockshot hill then depending whereabouts and which is your nearest School you could potentially get into sandcross or Priory for year 3. Be careful the Priory catchment is shrinking and needs to be your closest School to have a chance. So you may have to suck up and do private for a couple of years and then move.

That's really helpful, thank you. We are only there for a year or two, so might look at throwing money at it! Shock

Salfords is fine.

The ofsted is very old and reputation improving all the time. I actually know someone trying to get her daughter in as she has realised not worth paying for private.

Good luck with the move.
