Any SEN at Farringtons??

Hi all, does anyone know of any SEN children that went to or attends Farringtons? My son is 5 and has a severe speech and language delay and social communication disorder and wanted to see what there SEN provision was like!

I don't know anything about Farringtons apart from it is private (just googled). I would be wary about going to a non-specialist private school if you have severe speech and language delay and social communication disorder. I would instead look for a specialist language unit or base. Do you have an ECHP? You may need one to apply. My ds went to such a base and speech and language support and therapy are integrated into the whole curriculum. There was a speech and language therapist in the base several days every week (for 7 children, a larger base had one full time). He also spent time in a mainstream class and had specialist support for this. It made a huge difference.

They support milder needs well but are not set up for the severe issues you mention. I have children there and a child with SEN at another school as Farringtons would not suit her at all.

Not sure where you are exactly but have a look at Trinity School Rochester which may be far better set up for the issues you discuss. They are independent and take a mix of privately funded and EHCP students. Let me know if I can be of any more help as I know both these schools well.

My friends child attended but subsequently found out he was dyslexic. They treated him appallingly. Saying a dyslexic child would not be any good in their school. so I would definitely avoid!

DD2 is dyslexic and she is well supported there so perhaps things are different nowadays.

Hi - I also have children at Farringtons and whilst they are an 'all ability' school I do not think they would manage the level of SEN the OP describes.
