Didn't really know who he was?? God, that's bad. This is the class teacher you're talking about?

No, we don't have termly or half termly planners either.

I would bring up your concerns re lack of feedback, and definately ask what letters, reading etc. they are doing. Get as much info as you can, I know some teachers aren't very good at being forthcoming.

Ask about behaviour (unless you feel you really don't need to) if there are any projects etc. planned, how the teacher feels your Son is doing with his work, how friendships have developed, all that kind of thing.

It's pretty lightweight in Reception, and sometimes they don't have an awful lot to tell. Don't be afraid to give her a bit of a grilling though.

Good luck.

My dd is in reception, she brings home a book to read everynight with a book for comments, which is filled in by the teacher daily.

We get a very detailed plan of all projects/activities for each subject every half term.

We get regular notes re specific words or letters she needs to focus on.

We have a great school
