PE, how often?

How often should KS2 be doing PE?

Is there a minimum amount of time or is it up to each school to decide?

DC's school are now only doing it for 1 lesson every 4 weeks. It seems very little to me.

I never said it should replace PE (did anyone?) Just that its a shame it cant be done after registration or part of the school day. Only a few from each year are opting to do it.

Same deal with sport in my kids school - its mostly optional afterschool clubs so few are choosing to do it - there is just one PE lesson a week. Its feeling more and more like the school day is for sats factory and after/before school is for sport/dance/band. My daughter was at school 8-4.15 today and I think its too much.
