Apology if this may sound like a really silly question. I was wondering how other parents does it. DD will be starting school in Sept and she starts at 830 and finishes at 3pm. The school is abt 15 mins drive from home. On the other hand, DS is starting pre school in nursery which starts at the same time with DD. How does other parents in similar situations pick their kids if both kids starts and finishes at the same time ? Appreciate if you could share your thoughts pls.

Pay for breakfast club and after school club or childminder.

Is preschool at same location as school?

Boos75 · 31/01/2017 17:22

I drop/collect my DD later/earlier at her preschool so that I can do the school run (they are about 15 mins drive from each other). So usually 15 minutes late and pick up 15 mins early. I'm sure other parents with children at school will be doing the same. Pre school will be used to it. Smile

If you know which school already presumably it is private and most offer wrap around care.

Share with another parent. If you don't know anyone now, you probably will once you are a couple of weeks in.

Breakfast club for the oldest is the easiest. Or don't put the youngest in pre-school.

Mamabear12 · 31/01/2017 21:19

I put youngest in breakfast club or I would drop Dd first and he would be 20 mins late. This sept they will be in same school 😃

DD is going to Ken prep or Wimbledon for reception and DS will be going to pre school in Roche. So its abt 15 mins apart. Unfortunately there is no breakfast club and after school club at DD's school for reception.

Child minder?

Drop eldest at school at earliest possible time then take son to pre-school. It's not compulsory so although not ideal to be late, it really doesn't matter.
