DS is 7, at a primary in a European country. Came home recently in tears his teacher has called him lazy in front of the class. I am so upset and angry. Mainly angry cos he isn't.... he is the most intelligent considerate bilingually able boy ever. Its a state school. It seems in this country, this is acceptable behaviour from a teacher ( teacher 60+ nearing retirement). AI BU to request an explanation from the headmaster? Or can I just go at her with daggers but then she might take it out on him? he is only just 7 ffs.

My 8 year old is incredibly lazy. Teacher don't say that to him, but keeps telling me to tell him that he can do better.(Esp. writing.) I always tell the teacher to kick his butt and make him do the work, since he doesn't listen to me like he would listen to the teacher.

Lazy as a name wouldn't bother me if it was deserved. I take it to mean capable of much better. Honestly if this drives you crazy you're in for a rough ride up through the years.

It doesn't matter if he is amazingly bilingual and intelligent, if he's not doing his work he is lazy too!
Good on the teaching in that country.

I hate it when people say “ever”! How on earth would you know? Just say we find him to be very considerate. Teacher has clearly said it for a reason

* ZOMBIE THREAD**
He'll be 16 now, so whatever the kid was or wasn't lazy about will be long gone.
