Do you pay for school meals for a week you're not there?

Odd Q I know, but I'm about to pay next half term's school meals, and I don't know whether to deduct 5 days, for the meals the kids will be missing while we're away?

Anyone know? We're in Surrey LEA if this makes a difference?

OK - thanks

Do you reclaim for missed lunches (when sick) then?

We choose to pay half-termly in advance for meals. If I know they are going to be off (school trip, residential, whatever) then I don't pay for that meal. But I don't claim back for absences when they are sick.

(If they were off for a long time though I probably would.)

We don't pay for meals dd doesn't have; we pay in advance, either by the week or by the half-term, and are refunded for any meals dd misses due to sickness - we get the cash back in the child's bookbag the following week.

Our school is the same as WWb's they pop refunds in the book bag for any missed meals

We have to pay for school meals unless we give two weeks notice. The food has to be ordered and the staff paid whether the child turns up to school or not. I think this is fair other wise the school has to find the money from a different source.
