Birmingham?

Wasn't sure where to post this but as DD is starting school in September I think that a good school will be my priority so here goes.

We have recently been informed that there is a strong chance that DH's next job may well be in the centre of Birmingham. I know the city centre as a shopper but I don't know anything about residential Birmingham. What areas are nice? Any good schools that you know of? Any other tips? We will be looking at renting for about 2 years. TIA

there are some great schools in Kings Heath.which also has a great shopping high street and loads of houses for rent,a park, and child friendly cafes.highly recommended, worth checking out.

harbourne will cost you a fortune in rent,so will moseley.edgbaston is either really exclusive or a dive

Harborne is nice but I don't know anything about the primary schools there. Bournville is lovely and has a good primary and girls' and boys' secondary schools. Kings Heath, Selly Park and Moseley are pleasant enough but secondary schools more of an issue there, unless they get one of the (highly fought over!) grammar school places. Bournville is within walking or biking distance of the uni.
