We will be putting our house on the market in the next month or so and moving to a completely new area.
My son is due to be starting school in September. Ideally we will have moved before then but I think that's pushing it and you can never tell what will happen or how long things will take.
So potentially we could find that my son starts school where we are now and then has to move not long after starting. In addition of course we may well not get a place in our first choice school in the new area and he would then be placed wherever and we would have to wait for a place to become available in a school we want.
So I am vaguely considering that, should we not have moved by September, would it be better for him to not start school then and stay at home, and start school once we've moved, to limit the number of schools he might move between? I understand it is not compulsory for him to be in school until the term after he's 5, so from January.
Would he be disadvantaged by not starting school in September, or would it be worse for him to start school then move schools quite quickly, possibly more than once.
For what it's worth he's a September baby and very bright, so more than ready to go!
