Hi, I've just seen your post on here. I run the First Class Learning Centre in Portishead and I know how difficult it can be for parents to know which is the best approach to take when it comes to extra tuition. If you are still looking then are very welcome to have a 2 week free trial to see if it suits your son.

We have class on Tuesdays where the students will spend around 45 minutes to an hour. I then give practice pages to take home which are easy to fit in to busy lifestyles. If you would like any more information then please contact me on 07979035832 or 01275 265324.

Kind Regards, Sarah Reidy

I wouldn't have written this on here had the owner not hidden my own review on her page.....BUT

STAY AWAY....especially the Basildon branch!! My child had been with Eileen since before the start of lockdown. We used to do lessons in the centre, and soon moved to online. Eileen is a Singaporean lady who is rude, talks over people; including students asking questions or expressing their opinion and lacks people skills.

DESPITE her claimed success rate for the students who achieve high levels/grades, these are inflated and in fact is below 40% success rate. She’s all about the money - she is very knowledgable about the curriculum, but when put to the test the children who start with her never last as they start and then leave.

There are many BETTER 11+ teachers out there That are not scatty and all over the place, she has a don’t care and rude attitude and lacks humility to admit when she is wrong. In addition to this she interacts less with the children who start to get questions wrong, and begins focusing on students who she believes to be ‘smart enough’ instead of supporting and helping ALL children equally!
