Proud Mummy Moment

Last night was Lauren's school Carol Concert. It used to be seperate Infant and Junior school, but this year they have become a single Primary so this was the 1st Christmas event with the two together.

Each year did a reading. The reception class "reading" was done Lauren and another little boy from her class. They only had one line each to say but did not have microphones as the teacher thought that they would not like the sound of their voices through it. Anyway, the little boy said his line first, quietly, then it was Lauren's turn and she made sure that the whole hall heard her by speaking in a nice loud voice.

When they had done the whole room gave a collective AAAAAAHHHHH!!

I had to fight back the tears as I was SO PROUD of her.

Sorry for going on, just wanted to share this with everyone.

Aw! I'm very impressed at her bravery.

DD1's reception class were not entrusted with lines. But they did all stand up at the beginning, to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star all on their own. Amazingly, DD1 not only joined in, but I could hear her voice. That was a serious proud mummy moment, given that she generally just scowls her way through any communal activity.

What's more, DD1's end of the line finished a whole line ahead of the other end. I was so proud

Lovely!!

My DD1, being one of only a few full-timers, had a song and a dance to learn, which she did brilliantly. The part-timers in reception were the nativity animals - one actually fell asleep. Huge awwwws and aaaaahs from the audience!!
