Hi guys, this is my first time on here and hope you can help as I'm getting so frustrating with my kids school and in particular the head teacher. Both of my children have complained that they have been teased/bullied by other children. One of my kids is being assessed for ASD as he has a few issues and the other is 'normal'. They are 9 year old boys. They both have a lot of friends and are lovely, friendly and sociable. However, the issues with them being picked on in school hasn't been addressed by the teachers and my DH in desperation said to them that if the teachers wont do anything then you deal with it. This, whilst in my day, would have been the best solution, stand up to the bullies, but the school doesn't see it this way. And have called me in to deal with their behaviour. The head isnt interested in the fact that they were defending themselves and they have never started a fight in their lives but all of a sudden he's threatening me with internal exclusion and possible total exclusion if they dont buck up. I have explained that they are clearly feeling frustrated that their concerns arent being addressed and are lashing out as a way to stop the situation but he wants a stepford school and anyone who doesnt tow the line isnt welcome. I have spoken to numerous parents who have told me issues that either they or someone they know has had problems with this guy. He is totally officious and believes he is completely correct even when I have made very valid points. We have had SENCO and school psychologists involved but although he says he understands these issues and wants to work with us, he really doesnt. He has even asked a parent to remove their ADHD child from school when there was an Ofstead visit. I dont want to remove my kids from the school as aside from the few bullies, they are settled. I dont know what to do :(

I really feel for you. Have you thought about asking a solicitor? I know you can invite anyone to suppprt you in meetings. It might help.

Firstly get a paper trail.

Email the head and teacher a list of all the incidents you have previously raised directly with the teacher. List form, complete with vague dates and outcome.

Secondly go through the formal complaints procedure in relation to the bulling. It's pointless moaning about the head/governors when you haven't even tried to sort things out in line with bulling policies/procedures.

Eventually if the governors fail you, report it to the LEA/OFSTED.
