What do these national expectations mean?

was wondering if someone can help me.

i went to my sons parents evening the other day. He is in Reception. The teacher gave me a sheet with the levels he is at for each area.
At the bottom it shows what the National expectations are at the end of each term.

so he is 40-60m for each area but there are some letters in brackets next to them. they are all (b).

There are letters that are either (d) or (s) too.

What do these letters mean?

Possibly beginning, developing and secure?

40-60 is the right age band for the year. The letters relate to the school's own system for judging where the child is within the age band, I would guess (b) is beginning, (d) is developing and (s) is secure (some schools might use emerging, developing, expected or numbers). Secure is probably Early Learning Goals which is where he should be at the end of the year.

oh ok. Is that what the letters stand for. That would make sense then.
