School Run from North London (Golders Green) to West London

Having no experience of the school run traffic - is it doable for us to live in North London (around Golder Green) and driving the kids to school in Hammersmith/Holland Park area or is it madness?

Why are you so keen on being able to drive? It really makes more sense in West London to take public transport as the traffic is terrible in the mornings.

There are lots of excellent pre-preps in London - find the house and area in which you want to live, then have a look round. The selective schools don't have waiting lists, so your daughter can apply later (e.g. the various Girls' Day School Trust schools) and others, though they may say they have no space, often have spaces free up the year before as people choose which of the schools they have put deposits down they will go for/get their preferred state school place.

You were on that other thread. If you like Golders Green, look for a school roudn there, honestly, it is nonsense that NP is the only decent prep will places in London, there'll be dozens in North London. I think you've fallen for school hype about being over-subscribed, they're not in reality, everyone signs up for 5 or so, so everyone gets a place eventually.
