Success and Ground for Class changes?

Has anyone had experience for successful getting child moved or anyone know how you can do it?
I am guessing its about child ratio at the end of the day?

Not just class ratio, but a potentially problem causing precedent. Mrs X wants Johnnie moved because 'everyone knows Dolphin class is a problem class, and Whale class is much nicer'. School agrees. Mrs Y then demands little Jane be moved..... it would quickly become unmanageable.

If you are in ks1 and both classes have 30 it will be nigh on impossible .

A boy in DS's class was moved part way though Year 4. Not sure who instigated it, but the boy had "challenging behaviour" and word on the street was that it was to give him a fresh start with new class and teacher.

This is an operational decision of the head teacher. In most schools the headteacher will be very reluctant for a pupil to change classes because experience has shown it just leads to a cascade of such requests.
In most schools you would be far better off trying to resolve any issues you have with the current class than trying to get such a move organised

So it comes down to - cascade of request and setting precedent v the particular circs on one child.

How long would they expect to resolve issues by?

Key stage 3 ? Yea 3?

If you DC's school mix class every year, then it is easy to ask you child to be moved for the new year. But for mid year, I guess you need a good reason. Maybe no need to change class, you can certainly have a discuss with the teacher, you maybe can get DC moved to a different group.

autumn this sounds promising I doubt this stage in the class would be callled mid year, yes its mixed.
