DD will get homework once a week, spellings to learn and reading books changed 3 times a week. Apparently.

okay the same as we have been getting... Seems some schools might approach the curriculum differently ...

Once a week and the weekend to complete. Plus 5 spellings and as many reading books as they like provided it's been signed off by a parent

PatriciaHolm · 10/09/2015 11:05

Reading every day, spellings to be learnt over a half term, no other formal homework tasks until yr2

reni2 · 10/09/2015 11:55

5-10 spellings, reading book changed twice a week, maths and English once a week plus occasional project work.

Spellings once a week, a maths fact to learn once a week and reading as often as we can (but no set amount).

louisejxxx · 10/09/2015 14:34

So far we have had 6 spellings to learn for Monday and 2 reading books (both of these tasks set on the first day back) - we have been told the reading books will be changed tomorrow. At the bottom of the spellings sheet there was also a bit that said "extra challenge: try and use all these words in a sentence"

louisejxxx · 10/09/2015 14:35

Oh and we also got given the "Europe" part of the numeracy passport to practice at home.

BlueBananas · 10/09/2015 14:37

In year 1 DS had his reading book (which is just changed as and when necessary) and 1 piece of homework a week
Spellings don't start till Year 2, he will bring home the first lot tomorrow apparently, along with his reading book and homework we got yesterday

Just reading and words to sound out when they learn new sounds.

According to fridge magnet - yr 1 10 mins a day reading and sharing books, 10 min a week phonic and 10 mins a week maths. These are the minimum.

kazzaF21 · 15/09/2015 09:51

books changed 3 times a week-reading every day, 8 spellings-given out on a Friday and test on the Wednesday. 2 pieces of homework a week. This week was 2 sheets of maths-number sequencing-filling in the blanks and writing the teen numbers as words and figures.
