Also posted this in 'ed'! Anyone know where I might be able to access this list? I've just returned from a rather distressing parents eve where the teacher tells me DS hasn't yet mastered his reception words (he's in yr 1) so I thought it might be useful for us to know what these words are so I can assess where we REALLY are and how much assistance is needed to help him get there! He's not stupid, just immature!

they're called cvc words, search for that phrase on mn or the 'net.

I got the list which I downloaded into a word document but unfortunately I can't remember where I got it from.

FWIW DS didn't know all his words at the end of reception but I would be v. surprised if he doesn't know all the Y1 ones by summer. In fact I think he probably knows most of them now.

in Scotland we use the 100 common words. Is that the same thing you are looking for? if it is google it. you'll find it straight away. Hope that helps!

Well I've found a link. But it is KS1 (which is the end of Y2 not 1) but I think it will be helpful. It's here .

Also WHSmith sell little magnets with all the words on.

you should be able to get a list from your class teacher or from the dfes website www.dfes.gov.uk (i think)
