label stationary?

just spent what ended up being 30 quid on stuff for dd ad all of her stuff had either run out or been "lost" and I'm. blowed if I'm spending out again. so is it the done thing to label pencils etc or will she be the class joke of I do.

I have bought personalised pencils in the past

Dd has some really good quality Staedler colouring pencils that have a bit on for you to write a name.

Sorry so my point is go for it.

I label every single item of stationery.
Pencils, pens, rubber, ruler, colours, the pencil case itself.
Nobody has said anything so far, apart from the teacher who was pleased!

Oh you'll still be doing that but will be fully justified to rant :)

So far all the white board pens I have got have disappeared. they definitely aren't being mistaken for anybody else's as they are distinctive. so god knows what happened to them

You will label it and it will still go missing, believe me.

Every year we replace stationery and label every item (compulsory at the DC's school) and every year practically all of it has disappeared before the summer term..

I'm a secondary teacher, and I wish all kids would label their stationery.

This is the reason I loved the system DD1 had one year.

Stationery list given. Stationery brought to school. All stationery put in communal boxes in centre of each table so that nothing belonged to anyone in particular. Occasional shouts went out during the year for top-up of pencils/glue etc.

100 times better than last year when I was replacing things nearly weekly DD is ditzy when it comes to this sort of stuff. she may or may not take after her mother

I used to write my name on a sliver of paper and then clear-nail-varnish them onto things.

But I have a thing for pretty pens/pencils/notebooks, even now.

DD1 (entering Y2 soon) has school-issue stuff which stays at school.

We (and the school's my kids attended were the same) provide all stationary and prefer children not to bring their own.

I labelled all of my children's stationery as far as i know they were never really picked in because of it. You can personalised stationery.

As a teacher I labelled all my stuff too. Teachers can be thieving fuckers.

Well labels ordered and strict instructions to not lend stuff to any body and to stick to doing her work by her best friend who can 100 percent be trusted

DD had personalised colourling pencils (a gift) first. Later I just replaced them with Crayola or whaterever I could get my hands on. As they still fall down a lot, they break easily and all the ones from the start of Summer term went into the bin last week.

Gluesticks, highlighter, ruler, sharpner are all labelled. Rubber and writing pencil is not.

Children do NOT bring in any stationery items as they are not needed, the school provides everything they require. Solves the problem!

I was told by dd1 that as they go up less and less is provided. She's yr 4 now so I assumed it's down to us now as the school sold us stuff last year fir going into juniors

You can use a craft knife to slice off a sliver of the pencil near the bottom, leaving a flat bit of wood which you can write the name on.

I put stickers on the other stuff and a name tape on the pencil case.

Gosh, at dd's school everything is there at the school, haven't had to get anything (well except for completely useless novelty erasers)
