Yep! We have Fergus for the weekend! Fergus the classroom Dog!
C'mon you must have something similar?
DD has brought home the cuddly classroom dog for the weekend. The dog that every child in her class will, at some point, bring home sometime during their time in reception. The dog that has a book to accompany it that every parent has to write in and tell the class about what a fantastic time "fergus" has had with child over the course of a few days and enclose a photograph. The dog that every parent has to think of loads of stuff that would sound great, in said book, that "Fergus" has done over the past few days (even though after a whole sodding week of being at work and running around trying to cram everything in you want to just sit on your arse and do bog all!). Where every parent has to be like David Bailey (sp?) and take a wonderful snapshot of said dog and said child for teachers, parents and every other blimmin' child yet to take dog home to enjoy! The dog that every snotty nosed, lice ridden, smelly child has slept with throughout the school year has taken into it's cosy little bed over the weekend they have looked after him! (Nice!)
Ahhhhhhhh what fun will we have with Fergus this weekend I wonder??

Just be honest, that is what they really want.

If it was dd then her Friday nights are spent at her stage school class, she stays overnight with her grandparents, they bring her home on Saturday to be looked after by her other grandparents whilst we are at work. We get home around 7pm Saturday night. Sunday we spend all morning in our PJ's then wither go shopping, round grandparents or just general lounging around the house. (unless there is a birthday party on)

Just say what you are actually doing. The next person will probably be very releived.

I'd put him in the washing machine, since you have got him late in the term!

There's a very funny thread about this somewhere - where we learned that Batters' DH dropped the wardrobe on the class gerbil taken home for the week.

Fergus has gone to ballet this morning
DD said that Fergus didn't have a very good night last night - she woke up to find him on the other side of her bedroom!!

DD's nursery had a cuddly toy who visited everyone's house overnight but only in the Summer months (his holiday), with his passport, camera and diary. Being nosy, I liked to read up on other kids' families. No-one put on a show - mostly it was 'had tea, sat on edge of bath, slept well'.

There was a very funny thread on this sort of thing some time back.

Fergus gets laid
Fergus gets drunk
Fergus smokes pot
Fergus gets the stuffing knocked out of him after the pub
