Uniform help: buttonless polo shirts??!

Hi all,
My DD is starting preschool in Sept., but absolutely refuses to wear anything with buttons on.
Not sure if it's a full-on phobia. She will sometimes play with buttons on other people's clothes. I've tried removing decorative buttons on her tops, but she still won't wear it after.
So I thought, in order make the nursery to preschool transition easier: just buy buttonless shirts! But can't seem to find any
Any help or links appreciated, thank you!

My son has a button phobia!!! I chopped all them off his uniform and told the school why!

I have this phobia. I can't stand polo shirts. Personally I wouldn't wear one even with them cut off. The holes are still there to remind me...

Cecelia, what is it you don't like about them??? I'm trying to work out what causes so much distress

Can't believe how common this seems! My youngest son had 'button phobia' ' , through most of primary! He wasn't too bad when they were covered up by his sweat shirt, but during summer, hated being able to see them!
He's 17 now, and still not keen ! Luckily his secondary school was also polo shirts and sweat shirts, so he didn't have too many buttons to worry about. Most of his home clothes are button-less.

jam you have made me feel so much better, in winter the sweatshirts have covered to polo shirts up!! Now it's hot I've had to get special permission to send him in an ordinary t shirt!! Even with buttons off he wouldn't won't look at them !i thought it was just us!!

I tell myself it didn't do him any harm !!

If I touch one I feel dirty and have to wash my hands. I just find them revolting. No idea why.
When I was a child not many people knew about it. I only really 'came out' about it when I was pregnant with my first DC. I was worried people would buy me baby clothes with them on. See I can't even say the word!

I know this is an old post... but I have exactly the same problem with my son hating buttons on his school shirts! And also the velcro on the M&S ones. Has anyone found an alternative since the original post? Thank you!

2010 Equality Act means that reasonable adjustments have to be made by the school, so make an appointment and talk to the school. There must be some sort of top he can wear that's acceptable to them too.
