If your child goes to religious/voluntarily aided school how much do you pay a year in voluntary contribution? Do you pay the full amount suggested?

Catholic schools have to provide 10% of the school budget - that is made up from not very "voluntary" charges.
Ours is £120 / year per child but they ask that as a minimum...

My son is in his last year at a VA Catholic school and we have never been asked for anything but the secondary school (also Catholic) has already sent out a letter asking for money to help them continue to provide an outstanding education (if we can spare it). I have no idea how much...

Thinking back, we did get asked for £1 a week for baking/activities but I never thought anything of it.

I pay £10 per month, I cant remember how much they recommended but it was less than I am paying. And it is per family not per child.

I am shocked at thousands.

I was thinking about £10 a month but I have no idea what to pay them.

Tedtess, unfortunately you are being told an untruth, all catholic schools receive the same level of funding as any other school does in the Local Authority with the same funding formula being used for all schools including academies.
Where there is a difference is in capital projects where yes the school is expected to contribute 10%.

Our secondary school is £60 per child pa.
