Would love to hear from anyone that has sent/sends their child to primary/junior schools in West Dulwich. I have a 9 month old boy and keep reading horror stories about getting kids into good (non church) state schools. This is making me worry! Any recommendations/tips on catchment areas etc v welcome!!!! Wonder whether we need to think about private schools- although can't really afford it and would prefer not to..... Rosendale Primary has good Ofsted report as does Dulwich Hamlet Junior........

I know people whose children go to Rosendale, and they are very happy. They feel there is a strong sense of community amosngst parents and children. I think you have to live very close, though. And very close indeed to Dulwich Hamlet! Do you live in the area, or are you thinking of moving?

We live on South Croxted Rd which is a mile away (according to the aa routefinder. I am sad, I know) Do you know about any of the other schools in the area? Its really hard not to worry even this far ahead, as some of the other schools that I have read offsted reports about (that are closer to us)_ sound really awful. I don't want to have to think about moving as we have only just moved here, but am trying to get an idea about the reality of the situation. How closedoes your friend live to Rosendale?

Along Norwood Rd - about half way between the corner of Brockwell Park and Tulse Hill Station. I know she was a bit anxious about whether they would get in - but I don't know how much of that was general nerves and how much was genuine cause for concern, iyswim.

I don't know any of the other schools in the Croxted Rd area, but generally, if you put your child's name on waiting lists you may well get a place sometime later in the term, or within the first couple of years, if you are prepared to start out in another school.
