I'm waiting with baited breath to find out who will be the donkey this year

In DS's class the teacher asked them to say whether they wanted speaking or non-speaking parts. Having played Joseph with confidence and charisma at his nursery last year, DS has put himself down for a non-speaking part - because his friends have!
So he may well be the donkey!

DD is a (speaking) mouse. I guess its a step up from the dancing sheep last year!

TheDaVinciCod · 04/11/2006 10:45

ds1 is a clone

Pinkchampagne · 04/11/2006 10:50

I work in a primary school, & we haven't started organising our Christmas play yet!
My DS has terrible confidence problems, so he will never be chosen for a speaking part. I don't think he could even manage the donkey!

LIZS · 04/11/2006 10:52

dd's a dancer and ds a snake (his is not a Nativity play though)

busybusymum · 05/11/2006 19:33

we dont do christmas plays at your primary school!

busybusymum · 05/11/2006 19:34

of course that should read "at OUR primary school"

ROFL - you can un-bate your breath, Hideehi - DS is playing the donkey!!!

Loshad · 07/11/2006 22:26

DS4 is an acrobat - not a nativity play though as very multicultural school, more an end of term play.

Ellbell · 07/11/2006 22:30

No parts yet, but dd1 informed me today that their play was called... wait for it...

Gold, Frankenstein and Mirror

(What's the betting dd gets to be Frankenstein?)

florenceuk · 07/11/2006 22:33

ell DS is in reception - and he is the Angel Gabriel, which made me laugh. Teacher explained that they thought it might help him "focus" - DS can be a bit disruptive at times which I've posted on before. I think Mary and Joseph have been assigned with similar aims in mind - not sure if this seems "fair" to more well-behaved children. In fact it worries me that he is in this group but that's another thread....

DS1 is..... "Monster 3" lololol. We are having a meeting (the three monster mummies) to discuss costumes on Friday. I may also ask which bit of the nativity play has monsters in it!

a few years ago they cast the son of the local major racehorse owner as the donkey, oh how we did all chuckle

fussymummy · 07/11/2006 23:30

My daughte rin year one said she thinks she'll be a walking, talking, dancing Snowman!!!!!

My son in year 4 won't be doing plays this year (year 3 was the last one for him)

Other daughter in nursery hasn't been given a part yet.

Most nursery kids tend to be angels, shepherds or stars!!!

theheadlessgirl · 07/11/2006 23:34

Last year my DD3 was cast as that well known role of the traditional nativity - yes the "reporter" - ??? A creative teacher I think, making sure every kid got a part. However, on the day, "Mary" was off sick, and my girl stepped into the breach. Yessssss!

Ellbell · 07/11/2006 23:40

PPH... that'll be the Frankenstein!

Actually, perhaps the three monsters could be called...

Ghoul

Frankenstein

and Bleugh!

OK, I'll get my coat....
