Devonshire House vs. Abercorn School

Hi - I'm a dad, not a mom, but I got "schools" when my wife and I divided up responsibilities, and I figure this is as good a place to ask as any.

Our daughter has received admissions in nursery in Abercorn School and Devonshire House, and we are finding it hard to choose, and would welcome any thoughts that could help us decide. We do want her to sit for 4+ at NLCS, South Hampstead High School, Habs, etc. so I guess we are looking for something more structured and academic (and also interested in academic reputation of junior school beyond nursery).

Also would like her to go to a relatively international atmosphere. We are Americans, but settled in London for the foreseeable future.

Thanks so much in advance.

Neither are particularly academic and neither will prepare for a 4+ as they want you to go to their infant junior schools.

If you're looking for somewhere that gets a lot of children into the schools you've mentioned, look at Broadhurst school and Mulberry House.

Scools generally only prepare for their end point. You need to put names down pretty much at birth for Broadhurst so likely to be too late for that. Clowns in North End a Road prepares rigorously for the 4+ and has their leavers destinations on the website. Make sure you're sitting down when you look at the fees.....

Broadhurst do often have late places in their afternoon sessions.
Clowns/Manor house pre-school def worth a look too, although a few years ago, they only served veggie food (which didn't suit my DCs)

Hello, would like to follow up on this old post and see if anyone can share their experience after joining Abercorn? We are moving to London next year from overseas and my son will start reception. We are looking for an expat friendly school with diversity because DS does not speak English yet. Not too much pressure on tests but more a chilled loving environment for sensatie/shy kids, would Abercorn be a good fit?
