I was shocked to read this. Any parents from Hill House available to comment?

I'm sure the latest report does contain a certain amount of fiction, it appears to be a completely different school to the last report or when I was there. But both ISI reports had a big emphasis on teaching being planned based on prior attainment ofbthe children and differentiated work that supports the least able and stretches the most able. The whole class beign given the same work was mentioned negatively in both. They seem to have looked at policies related to teaching and learningn and curriculum documents as well.

Someone up thread suggested the problem was that ofsted didn't know how independent schools worked and that they didn't tick boxes and it would have been better if ISI inspected them. I'm not sure there's much chance of them getting a glowing report from ISI either. Not least because I think they are both assessing against the independent school standards which the school has spectacularly failed to meet if they don't have the relevant paperwork.

HH are now seeking to get ISI to come and inspect them in the hope that they will be more lenient.

Well I don't think they look at H&S issues so it might work out better for them. They might need to get their paperwork sorted out though.

Lots of denial of the issues raised from the leadership and them saying they're too busy to meet with the parents to discuss. Not great.

ISI do inspect Health and Safety. It comes in the welfare of pupils section. Also, why on earth would any decent schoolshy away frommaking reasonable changes to meet helath and safety concerns. I would think ISI were utterly useless if they do not find similar problems. Also, ISI would have inspected if the school was registered to qualify for this inspection. It is not, so it gets Ofsted.

As millymollymama says ISI do assess H and S.

If a school does not comply with the Independent School Standards Regulations they can be removed from the DfE's register of independent schools. That means they cannot operate any longer.

They can get ISI in if they want: all inspectorates will do paid-for inspections. However, they need to meet the statutory requirements to remain registered as an independent school. That means that they have to be inspected by the relevant inspectorate (OFsted in this case, it would seem) and be found to meet the registration standards.
