Our DS recently got into CC through 7+ and we will be accepting the offer tomorrow morning. Glad that this process is over. We will also let other schools know accordingly, so I hope that is good news for other members on WUS and KCJS waitlist threads.

We would like to move closer to St Paul's so that the little one does not commute long distances every day. Other than Barnes, does anyone have suggestions for family-friendly nearby neighbourhoods? Barnes and Putney are focus areas, just want to see if we should look elsewhere as well. 20-30 minute driving distance would be ideal.

As mine is on the reserve list at KCJS, thank you! We live in Putney and had always thought it would be fab to be at CC - not because of the driving but because there is a wonderful path down by the river which I had hoped my son could then cycle down (when he was a little older). There is also Beverly Brook path which connects that river path to Putney Common. Worth having a look around Putney Common?

We are in Chiswick, and it is a "quick" (speed is dependant on A4 traffic - could be 15 minutes, could be half an hour) trip down the A4. It is a lovely, leafy, family friendly area, and a very quick trip to school for meetings, dropping off forgotten sports kit.

Many thanks for the replies. I will definitely add Chiswick and Putney Common to the list.

Mominatrix, sounds like your DS is/was at CC. How busy are the after school / weekend activities? My understanding was that most clubs, at least in early years, were during lunch time. We would be tempted to move as close as possible (ideally walking distance) to the school if there are a lot of after school / weekend activities.

Fulham is also convenient, especially near the river. Some parents/boys cycle from there to school. We go by tube from Chelsea -- takes 30 minutes.

Most clubs are at lunchtimes, other than fencing, swimming and running. No weekend activities (other than ocassional art workshops which are voluntary and a saturday drama club) until year 7 (CC year 4) when there are some saturday matches.

The teachers for 7+ entry are wonderful -- nurturing, bright and enthusiastic. I hope your son enjoys it!
