I was in a bit of a rush and had 2 year old with me and just assumed it was nothing much, ie just watching her and writing about it etc so I just signed it. Now I'm thinking I sould have brought it home first and read it! She did say she would take photos but none full face, I'm not bothered about that. My dad has just said to me "as long as they don't take her away from school" and I started to panic.
Can anyone she any light on this and let me know if my dd will be aware that they are using her as the subject? Would they take her away from the class to do different work?
I'm going to be asking at 3pm when I go to pick her up, or should I ring the school and talk to the teacher involved earlier?

The TA will no doubt have cleared the idea with the school, and I doubt they would have agreed to anything remotely dodgy. You have to sign an explicit consent form anyway if your daughter is being taken off the premises. But if you are concerned, go and have a word with the TA.

My eldest ds was used for someones university studies, his nursery teachers, and I was so pleased we did it.She let us have a copy when it had been marked and it was lovely to have such an in depth assessment of hime at that age.She formed a good bond with him and got to know him quite well and the report made a big thing about how much he loved his Daddy and how he was such a big thing in his life etc and also aboout how he played and developed etc.None of the work or sessions she had with him happened outside the normal classroom enviroment,it was really just an extension of the normal observations that they write about the children anyway.
i was pleased we had done it and the teacher was so grateful that it was nice to feel that we had helped her in her studies.

Does anyone know if its common for them to let you have a copy? My dd was used for coursework at nursery too but we weren't offered a copy and didn't ask for one. If its possible I think it would be quite nice.

I spoke to ta at hometime yeaterday and she gave me a copy of form, it hasn't got much on it really!
She said she has chosen dd because she is very co-operative and picks things up quickly.
I didn't ask her for a copy of the finished work. Does anyone else know if it is usual to get one or was philly lucky, I've got to admit it would be nice.

Go on - just ask. What's the problem? The TA will probably be flattered that you are interested in her coursework.
