Who is just lovely the little girl is really sweet but her mother is a class A bitch.
She slags everyone off behind their back, shit stirs and basically seems to love winding everyone up.
Has anyone any advice ? I'm glad DD has a best friend but I don't want to be chummy with the mother and I'm already worried sick about what happens if it all goes wrong, I would just keep out of it but I suspect she likes a good fight

sorry but you can't choose your childrens friends, but it does also mean that just because the children are friends you don't have to be best mates with the mother....hope that makes sense.........

I've been on the receiving end once already, I was ill with a migraine and asked her to pick my DD's up and DH would collect them from her house, she was the only person who's telephone number I had at the time, she told me there was no way she could do that and I needed to pull myself together and all the other Mums that I couldn't cope. All done with a smile you understand.

I agree with chatee. If your daughter wants to invite her new best friend round to play, then do it. You don't have to like her mother. In fact, you don't even need to exchange very many words with her.

Just be polite to her, but not overly friendly, don't go out of your way to talk to her or involve her in your life etc. she will either warm up and be more friendly towards you or be just as cool. At least you wont get hurt that way.
