we do a fishing game with the hoops, it's basically the same as musical chairs, but with hoops on the ground, ie the child who is last to a hoop is out, and no music you just tell them to keep jogging round and then shout fish or something like that and they all have to get into a hoop. We also do duck, duck goose, and skipping games, throwing games where if you dont catch the ball/beanbag you then have to go down on one knee then the other knee etc. If you want a good school website with games let me know and I'll get it for you.

Thanks for the replies. NannyStar an SMSA is a School Meals Supervisory Assistant who helps the children at lunch. Although i have been employed to be solely based in the playground to specifically play games with the children rather than supervising them eating. Thanks Shewhonerverdusts there are some great games there.

port, starboard, bow, stern and danger! give each side of playground one of 1st 4, danger is sitting in a line in middle. kids have to remember which is which and run to the correct side when you shout its name. catch them out by shouting the same one twice

simon says

ladders where they sit in two lines facing each other with legs out, feet touching. each pair has a number and has to run up the ladder of legs, round the back and then back up the ladder to their original place when you shout their number. make sure they are spaced out tho or they end up standing on people!
