Puked once, now fine

My Y3 DS ate a large ice cream while playing out this afternoon. After running about for a bit he came in looking very pale, said he felt sick then puked. Within minutes he was absolutely fine and has been asking for food since.

Obviously if he had a bug I would keep him home and if there is any doubt at all I will keep him home but I'm fairly sure (considering his miracle recovery) it was overindulgence so I'm not sure if he should stay home or not.

I'm not one for keeping him home for the slightest snuffle but also I'm not one to send him in if there's a chance he's infectious. Normally I'm quite decisive about whether to send him or not but this time I'm really not sure.

I'm not working so that's not clouding my judgement. I'd be happy to keep him home but he really wants to go and feels fine now.

WWYD?

I decided that even though he is absolutely fine, desperately wants to go to school and many of my friends are telling me to send him, I'm keeping him home today and tomorrow. He's going stir-crazy already but as it could still be a bug I'm not taking any chances.

I knew that was the right thing to do really, but as he didn't seem ill at all I was doubting myself.

Being car sick is different to just throwing up.

Dd1 and ds2 had the throw up once bug a few weeks ago. Usually if one of us gets a bug we all get it to varying degrees yet with this one it was only the two of them not that I'm complaining.

The last bug they shared with me had me out of it for two days feeling like my head was being crushed.

Last year I dreaded any of us getting a d&v bug as my mum had been through chemo and radiotherapy to try and manage her symptoms. Of one of us caught a bug it meant at least a week where we couldn't see her and when you're on borrowed time a week seems a very long time to lose.

I think it's going around here (Hampshire). DD3 was sick on Thursday morning (just once, phlegmy). Seemed absolutely right as rain, then on Friday night she appeared at my bedside and said "I feel ill". She then ran through to the bathroom and was sick.

Last night, DD1 came home from gymnastics as high as a kite, having passed a badge. She had a sandwich and a small milk shake, happily. 10 minutes later she was shrieking with tummy pain, then she was sick. She seems 'ok' this morning, but I will not be surprised if she's sick again tomorrow mid-morning.
