4-year-olds behaving badly

DS started reception last week and today our nanny said that the teacher told her DS had made another boy (the son of friends of ours, whom he considers a friend) fall in the playground and apparently also scratched him. The teacher said they separated the boys and that if the incident happens again we will be called into school to discuss. The boy's mother also spoke to our nanny- apparently she was quite upset/annoyed.

Both our nanny and I have spoken to DS and I have read with him a book about being nice to your friends (which has a specific section on not bullying and bossing around). Now I do not know what to do. Do I send the book into school so the teacher can see it? Do I write a note to the teacher? Do I text my friend?

As luck would have it tomorrow I have a very important and very early work meeting, so I won't be doing drop off, though DH may do pickup. Am stuck.

I'd write a note just to let the teacher know the nanny passed the message on, you were very concerned and have spoken to DS, and to please let you know of any further problems. Just lets them know you're onside and taking it seriously.

tbh I think your friend is being unreasonable. It's a one off - they are 4. I would ignore this aspect I doubt her ds is mr perfect either and he may well have done something first.

The above sounds sensible to me.
