Went to take DS3 to nursery at 12.45. Large playground, all kids on lunch running around and have access, most are around back of school but about 60 in the playground, ata guess? Most reception. One dinner lady, supervising (understandably) the wooden play equipment. At the other end, in the yard completely ignored, three full milk bottles- glass, just standing there ready to be tripped over.

teacher must have walked past several times and just ignoed them.

Now, I AM paranoid over this as I have the scar on my hand from where I tripped and landed on one at 7, needing stitches. But still?

I complained the tohe nursery teacher who dais she would ahve them removed, they were there coz caretaker was off. but now i am wondering : Am i being silly now???

It's always someone else's job isn't it? People refuse to do anything out of the job description even if it's something that's potentially dangerous. You were right to complain.

just a thought, could you have picked them up and taken them to the school reception?? instead of waiting for nursery teacher to either get round to ask someone to move them/remove them herself???

fwiw, no, you are not being paranoid, glass bottles and small children playing is a risk...

no, not paranoid- I agree with you. My best friend had a very similar accident to the one you just described, she fell and landed on a milk bottle when she was about 8 yrs old, destroyed all tendons and nerves in her hand and has only 40% usage of her hand.

It only takes a split second....

You're right I could have taken them in- if you have seen some of my previous posts you'll relaise I have very specific reasons for not going into the reception / office block atm LOL (severe conflict between ourselves and head over SN eldest son! Which is why I raised attention, rather than (plus there were many bottles and I had a small child) but yes I see your point

Bit daft to leave milk bottles just there!! But maybe it's the first time - new milkman possibly?

However definitely not a good idea.
