birthday parties where the whole class is invited

DS1 has an invite to a party, I think all 16 children are invited. It's in a church hall

Is it really too too cheeky for words to phone up and say yes, and can DS2 come as well? I think it might be but if there are other littles there I will regret not bringing the chap

I'm unlikely to get a chance to ask innocently at the school gate, as I work full time and drop off is always a bit of a rush. Views, oh experienced ones?

The OP said 16 children, in a church hall...
I'm with Twiglett, would expect several younger siblings but ONLY if their parents were staying.

IME the party children get on with it and the littlies muck about with ballooons round the edges.
also it depends how much younger - the closer in age to the birthday child, the more the sibs will expect to join in, which is where the problem arises. My DS at 2.5 would nominally understand if the party was for DD and not him, but he wouldn't really be able to accept that he wasn't included in the games.

DS's class is 16 kids, so perhaps that's the reason we're not shooed away. Also the geographical spread is such that by the time many parents got home, it wouldn't be long before they had to come back again.

Same here. I expect all parents to stay at dd's party as most of them will have travelled between 5-10 miles to get there.

As our parties are held in a house extra siblings could be a problem in terms of space.

well that's different obviously. We are in a city and most people have only come like five mins down the road.
the one person who did stay at DD's big party was a pal from another school up in the hills a bit.

Having said that, DD had lots of parties this summer at a soft-play place a good 20mins drive away and I was never allowed to stay there either (esp not if I had the DSs, I couldn't pay for them to stay and play, they weren't allowed to be at her party lol)
