Do I have to worry about DS getting one "emerging" grading on his report?

Or is it normal?

I feel like I should be worried as it means that he hasn't achieved the necessary standard for the learning goal and he is an autumn born too.
It's for Expressive Arts, music, dancing, playing with different materials and media etc. It's probably true that he is not really into this kind of stuff (although he does listen to music at home and enjoys it and he goes to a dance class once a week and enjoys it although he has got 2 left feet..he hates colouring in kind of activities though) at school and chooses to play with cars/role play kind of stuff rather than choose to do that. Does that mean he is not acheiving the required standards? He draws quite well though when he does do it.
I'm personally not that concerned...perhaps I should be?

No. He's fine.

Agree with sneepy - not too much to worry about there.

Sometimes it can depend on the teacher - and the type of things they do. I know this year the boys really didn't enjoy any of the projects related to 'Frozen' - and one boy was specifically picked up on not joining in the singing unit on 'Frozen'. The Mum took it in good humour - she could see it wasn't very appealing to little boys.

Thanks!
That's reassuring. I don't think DS has ever sung infact. DD who is nearly 4yrs is usually singing or humming something all the time. It's funny how different girls and boys can be about things like this, even though it's not very PC to say so!

I wouldn't give it a moments thought. I worked some with EYFS materials and I think so much of it is a load of malarky. Its best suited to identifying kids with delayed development, special needs earlier on.
