Does anyone want to play school report bingo?

I'll start -

Child 1 - pleasure to teach, follows the rules, caring, sensible (well behaved super compliant little darling)

And ahem child 2 - real curiosity, naturally inquisitive, not afraid to take risks, easily distracted but can maintain high levels of concentration during child initiated activities (Only stays on track with tasks he chose, asks questions all the time and rather tricky all round Grin )

Just what I expected, but still made me grin.

child 2 also described as a 'lively learner' his poor teacher.

still no reports here...

KaFayOLay · 14/07/2014 19:41

Innovative literacy.....is that good or bad?

Child 2 - lacks confidence......a recurring them throughout school. She is confident though, just quietly. She never had been and I suspect never will be a gobby in your face type of girl.

BoiledPiss · 14/07/2014 19:49

If DS1's parents eve is anything to go by, his report will read is and

Convinced she looked down to check his name a couple of minutes in!

nonicknameseemsavailable · 14/07/2014 20:24

innovative literacy? not heard that one before.

Fuzzymum1 · 14/07/2014 20:49

I loved how my Y2 DS's teacher (after she said "pleasure to teach") said he used "accurate (and impressive!) punctuation" He's recently learned how to use brackets and does so whenever he can now, LOL

I liked 'dd has a method of negotiating to ensure she gets her way' Grin aka a bossy little madam... .

AChickenCalledKorma · 14/07/2014 22:11

DD2 has been "consolidating last year's progress". In other words, she made progress last year. This year ... not so much Hmm.

Etah · 14/07/2014 22:19

Enthusiastic and friendly / Always interested in finding more about a given subject / Very knowledgeable in a range of subjects (?????) ??
Popular and hard worker.

A part from the item littered by question marks the rest is pretty clear.
Should I ask the teacher to clarify?

CuriosityCola · 14/07/2014 22:31

Etah, I think they were using a comments bank and forgot to personalise it.

Etah · 14/07/2014 23:13

Like always. No point at all, these "personal" comments if they come straight out of a computer, the same to everyone.

noddyboulder · 15/07/2014 00:03

DC1 - "an absolute pleasure, blah blah" - is a very well behaved, above average achiever in a difficult year, works hard... real p.f.b

DC2: strong minded, strong willed, very competitive, likes to hang out with a small group of girls.

I've basically given birth to Regina from Mean Girls, haven't I? :)

itsnothingoriginal · 15/07/2014 14:28

Mine said:

Child 1 (yr 5) - A pleasure to teach. Must work harder to get tasks finished on time.

Child 2 (yr 2) - A pleasure to teach. Must work harder to get tasks finished on time.

Seems I have created duplicate children 3 years apart Confused Grin

Worse than useless especially as we were given NO indication of levels or progress at all for the year! May as well not have bothered...

groovejet · 15/07/2014 21:05

Snap KaFayOLay, the same gets said by my dd1, although this year we had an improvement her teacher said first impression was lacks confidence etc etc but after getting to know her realises that she is a knowledgeable young lady.

DD2 clearly a teachers pet, her report comments on her willingness to help do jobs in the classroom, shame that side of her doesn't reveal itself at home.

FinDeSemaine · 15/07/2014 22:26

DD apparently shows 'strong leadership qualities'. I think we all know what that means...

ILoveCoreyHaim · 15/07/2014 22:55

I am over the moon with dd2s. I have fought tooth an nail for her to get help and at the end of year 4 that help came in the form of a new headmistress who brought in outside help. With a year of extra help she has caught up to her peers.

some comments from her report...

dd has made very pleasing progress in Literacy this year. She is a good reader and has shown she has a good understanding of the texts we have read. Her stories are interesting, lively and descriptive and i have been impressed by dds developing vocabulary.

dd has made outstanding progress in maths this year and is becoming a more confident mathematician.

Dd has learned about World War Two. Dd engaged with this topic and produced some lovely, thoughtful work.

dd gives her beat each week and. Has been giving 100% effort to perform to her ability every lesson. If she continues with the same attitude next year she will do well.

dd is a bright girl who has achieved a great deal this year. The progress she has made should be celebrated and she should feel extremely proud. Dd should ensure that she is focused from the start of yr6 to build upon the success of this year. Dd is a popular member of the class and is a kind and caring friend. She has lovely manners and is always happy to help anybody in school. I havw thoroughly enjoyed teaching dd this year and wish her well for yr6 and beyond.

Headteacher

dd you should be delighted with this report. You have gained in confidence in your learning and we are all very proud of you.

This is a girl who hated school and was miles behind her peers all the way from yr1 to yr4. What a difference a year can make.

ILoveCoreyHaim · 15/07/2014 22:56

Typos are mine, not her teachers Grin

ILoveCoreyHaim · 15/07/2014 23:02

Our reports are quite long by the sounds of it. Dd in yr4 hers is 3 pages long. Dd YR1 hers is 2 pages long. Both detail progress in each subject, topics covered and what they need help with and how to help them.

treadheavily · 15/07/2014 23:02

"minitread is so clever and gorgeous"

I thought that was rather nice of the school.

ggirl · 17/07/2014 13:10

My friends son got ' xxx really enjoyed the school trip and learnt a lot about bla bla' ... Teacher even said it at parents evening....dad said ' that's amazing considering he didn't even go on that trip ,'. !!
