Year 3 levels

Hello

I'm getting dds results in an hour! If she ended year 2 with 2a's all round, what level would be good progress and what would be minimum progress?

I'm thinking 3c at the end of year 2 would be ok progress but 3b expected?

Any ideas? I know as a class they are doing level 4 maths but I can't believe she'll actually get that score having only been a 2a?

Many thanks !

Sorry 'thinking 3c and 3b at end of year 3' that should say above.

According to our school report "expected progress" is 2 sub levels (a/b/c) in years 1, 2, 4 or 6 and 1 sub level in years 3 or 5.

So if your daughter was at our school and she finished year 2 with 2a then she would be making expected progress to reach 3c by the end of year 3 - i.e. 1 sub level.

It all seems weird to me, but that's the info I have from the school.

I would expect 3c tbh and be pleasantly happy if it were higher!!
There is a big jump between KS1 and KS2 expectations.

(though I'm surprised that you don't at least have an inkling as to what the results are going to be, I was fairly sure DS would have made an expected sublevel of process, but that DD had made much greater progress).

I know she's doing ok but have only met her teacher once at a 5 minute parent evening.

Now she's in the juniors she takes herself in once I drop her off at the entrance and teachers are not around really unless you request to see them, which I haven't as dd seems fine gererally.

Teacher said she's progressing well but they don't mention levels at all during meetings and the last parents evening was Xmas so not spoke to anyone since. I just wandered if 3c or 3b was expected but it seems my first post was right really - 3c expected and anything extra is a bonus!

Thanks!

An average of 1.5 sublevels of progress per year is expected progress in KS2 - obviously children don't make exactly the same amount of progress each year so 1-2 sub levels each year is expected. From 2A I would want to see 3C or 3B.

One of mine moved 0 sublevels in writing, 2 sublevels in maths and reading, the other moved 3 sublevels in all areas during year 3.
