How do you find a catchment maps for schools in Lincoln?

We may be moving to Lincoln (DH already works there and wants to move back, I've just applied for a job there) and I've been scouting out Primary schools for DS (4). Because he'd be moving into Yr 1, as he's nearly completed Reception, we'd need to make sure we're in the catchment for a decent school as we're unlikely to get a KS1 place where we want from the getgo and would have to go on a waiting list.

Looking on the Ofsted site, there are some truly crap primary schools in Lincoln, we've lived there before but pre-DS so didn't realise just how bad some of them are, so we'll be looking for the catchment for the school we like, to try and buy there, or just to avoid moving into the catchment for some of the worst schools.

Where we live now, you can see a map on the local government website which details the catchment areas for each school (this sort of thing), but I can't seem to find an equivalent map for Lincoln unless I sign up for a commercial website to do so Hmm. Does such a map exist for Lincoln?

TIA.

We're in a village south of Lincoln, and I applied for my kids to go to another village school 8 miles away. I pick up the transport tab (take & collect them every day) but I had no questions asked why I hadn't chosen a school closer (and there are at least 8 closer, of which 2 are walking distance from home). I think you just apply for whichever one you want in a preference list of 3.

I have a child with SEN and the LEA here have been great, if you want to call them and ask for a definitive answer.

My kids go to an excellent primary (perhaps too far south of Lincoln for you). I love Lincolnshire, and I'm not local. Happy if you want to pm me for further details :)

Lincoln schools don't have defined catchments, so there won't be one. Admissions are done generally on distance from school, (religious schools excepted) so the farthest distance admitted will change each year. They don't seem to have a document with this year's distances on for each school, but they should be able to tell you if you call the LEA.

Ah, that explains it then. Thanks for that.
