Hi

My DD starting reception in September.

What is your child's daily routine during term time?

Eg bedtime, wake time, playtime at home, dinner, homework etc?

How do you manage if working full time? What is routines of stay at home mums?

Thank you for your time to reply.

My 5 yr old gets up around 6:30am and watches TV has a drink for 20 mins. Then we do some reading / spelling practice / written homework. Around 7:30am he has breakfast and then he gets dressed and brushed his teeth. We leave for school around 8 - 8:15am.

I pick him up around 3:30 most days. Twice a week he has an activity after school (swimming and tennis) and once a week he does 'late club' at school while I take my 3 yr old to her ballet class. After school I let the kids do pretty much what they want until about 5:30pm when they have a bath. At 6pm we all have dinner together then the two younger children (3 and 8 months) go to bed. My 5yr old stays up a bit longer and does some more reading. He goes to be around 7:15pm Mon - Thurs and on Fridays we'd let him stay up until around 8:30 watching a movie or sports with Daddy.

I'm a SAHM at the moment.

My 6yo is up at 7, then has a wash and gets dressed, then breakfast. If I'm working we leave at 8 for breakfast club or otherwise I take her to school.
If I'm working she goes to after school club. If not we come home, do homework if there is any and she either plays or she has ballet or rainbows depending on the day. Dinner at 6, bath, story and bed by 7:30.

Mumof3xox · 24/06/2014 06:34

Oh and I work 3/4 days a week. I leave house at 7-730 and my dp takes over
I return at 6

DS3 gets up at about 7, he gets dressed whilst I prepare breakfast. If there is time he then tends to draw/play with lego until leave for school at 8am. Goes to breakfast club. School (packed lunch at dinner time). After school club. I pick up at 5pm. Home. Whilst dinner is cooking I try and read with him, or sometimes he does his online maths. Eat by 6. Then reading if we haven't already done it or he plays. Ready for bed at 7 - 7:30.
This changes on a Friday as he goes to a gym club at 6pm so he has school dinner that day.

getting up is anytime after 6 (oh lucky us!), they have breakfast, get dressed and clean teeth and watch some TV or play. leave for school at 8:30.

after school pick up at 3, then snack, then ferrying one or other or both children to different activities or playing outside/inside and reading book for the younger one usually or she gets too tired later. then dinner usually at 6, bath usually at 7 followed by stories/reading books then bed 7:30-8ish for the younger one.

6.00am DD wakes up and usually reads or plays quietly in her room
7.00am DD gets up/told to stop playing in her room and has breakfast.
7.15am brushes teeth and gets ready for school.
8.00am leave for school
8.45am arrive at school
3.15pm (3.45 if ballet that day) pick up with snack for on the way back
4.00pm (4.30 if ballet) get home and sit down/play
5.30pm reading and homework
6.00pm TV
6.30pm dinner
7.00pm brush teeth and bed

If there's Rainbows we go straight there from school, do her reading whilst waiting for the bus, then when we get there she gets changed and does any homework or plays in the park opposite (bus gets us there 25 minutes early) we get a lift back and get home about 6.45pm, have dinner and go to bed

Oh sorry, she's reception and I'm a SAHM

yomellamoHelly · 24/06/2014 18:46

Wake her 7:45 - 7:55 and down by 7:55. Then left with her breakfast while I get her brother out. Get her dressed and out the door at 8:30. Collect at 3:30. Walk back, get her changed and a drink. She amuses herself (this end of the year she's generally laid flat on the floor) while I sort out her brother and do his physio. Has tea at 5:30 and watches TV / plays. Bathtime once finished with her brother. Plays while I read her brother a story. "Bed" (she stays up hours playing.) Very little to her day tbh.

My dgs was 5 in February and is in Reception.
He gets up at 6.30 and his mum or dad supervises washing, teeth etc. he dresses himself, takes himself to the loo etc. Breakfast at 7.15 ish is always fruit and cereal with milk followed by toast and Marmite. Then he reads his book to one of his parents. Either mum or dad takes him to school for 8.30.
Pick up at 3.15 is either me or the cm who has shared his care (and his big brother's) since they were 6 months old. One night a week is sports club after school until 4.15 which he loves. At the cm's twice a week they have a drink and a snack and are picked up by a parent. The other 3 days I collect and we either go home to play or the park and again a snack. Tea time is 5.30 by which time one parent is always home. Then 30 mins play/tv time, readind school book and learning spellings and upstairs by 6.45 for a quick shower and teeth then bed by just after 7 with a story. He likes to fall asleep listening to a Beatrix Potter story regardless of what other story he has. He is fast asleep before 7.30.

thegreylady · 24/06/2014 21:43

His mum works full time by the way as does his dad who is self employed.

I think our routine is a bit more chaotic Grin. Up around 7 with ds 4 and 2 elder siblings. Rush to breakfast club for 7.45 twice a week. Picked up from school 3 times a week by gps at 3.20, twice by me with one of those another mad dash to gymnastics. gps do tea around 4.45 for all kids if Im working .If I'm home it's later than that for tea. Around 6.30 I realise we haven't done reading practice so we try to fit that in to the bedtime routine along with dds recorder practice. I prise elder ds10 off minecraft around this time and try to get him to read his book. The younger 2 go to bed around 7.30 or even 8pm and the 4 year old often not asleep till 8.30. He never needed much sleep. At his age his elder siblings went to sleep arpund to p
7pm.

PeanutButterOnly · 24/06/2014 22:29

'Went to sleep around 7pm'

PeanutButterOnly · 24/06/2014 22:29
