Hi everyone, looking for some information on schooling around Buckinghamshire....primary and secondary. My son is 8 and will be going into year 5 in September, we currently live in Devon and looking to relocate to Buckinghamshire in December of this year. So far looking at High Wycombe, Wendover and Aylesbury. Understand about the 11+ exams which we don't have in Devon, my son struggles academically so any advice on Secondary schools would be great.

Ofsted did not say John Colet pupils were badly behaved. It criticised areas of learning and leadership which you cannot judge from children in the street. However, they will improve. My DDs also went to the primary schools in Wendover. I often think the Junior could do better considering its intake. Far too many not achieving level 4s in comparison to similar schools. As about 25% will go to grammar schools, the John Colet school is no different to any other secondary school, but it has a very strong cohort of near misses and very supportive families. A few children get outstanding results but other children under achieve. My friends children have all loved the school but it does need to improve.

Have you looked at Chorleywood or Rickmansworth? Close to Amersham but in Herts. Clement Danes in Chorleywood is v good I think. Chorleywood also has good primaries.
