Finding out class sizes

I've got a primary school appeal next week and I need to find out class sizes of my preferred school ie if any if them are over 30. Where can I get that information?

Thanks!

Is this an appeal for an infant place - reception, year 1 or 2? If it is, then it doesn't matter whether any class size is over 30, your appeal will be an Infant Class Size (ICS) appeal, meaning you will have to prove there was an error in the admissions process which denied your DC a place they would have otherwise been offered, had the admissions criteria been applied correctly.
This link explains some of the issues surrounding ICS appeals.

If you have an appeal next week, you should by now have had information about the appeal including the admission authorities reasons for not admitting your child. This should definitely say what the class sizes are in the year you are appealing for and usually all other class sizes in the school. If they are not in the document then that is wrong and you need to ask the admission authority for the information.
You could also try looking on the website for the school they frequently put on there the classes and how many are in them.

It's reception. I got the appeal information today (very late) and it doesn't seem to have that information on there just what they intend to have in September which I knew anyway. I will try the admissions authority.

What they intend to have in September is what is relevant for the appeal in an ICS case. As Bunnyjo says, it makes no difference if they currently have classes over 30. The appeal panel cannot use that to justify taking them over 30 again. You can only win on the limited grounds laid down in the Appeals Code, which essentially means you have to show that something went wrong with the process that denied your child a place. If you can prove that the panel has to admit your child unless a lot of other children were affected by errors. If you cannot show that something went wrong you will almost certainly lose your appeal.
