Yes but what am I supposed to do once I know? Confused

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2014 20:50

OKAY!

spanieleyes · 04/05/2014 20:53

You might want to consider your target audience, yelling at all and sundry will not work!

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2014 21:01

It is 180 miles from me and my DC are 12 and 14 but i will bear it in mind.....

spanieleyes · 04/05/2014 21:06

I'm closer but my children are older, so not sure how I fit in! ( I suppose they might be planning on providing me with grandchildren in the (distant) future. I will warn them not to move to Kent though, just in case!)

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 04/05/2014 21:28

The parents at the school will have been informed ... what is the purpose of this?

Shartibartfast · 04/05/2014 21:30

Noted OP. I'll let Nigel know.

ImAThrillseekerBunny · 04/05/2014 21:32

Parents should all have been given a copy of the report. Prospective parents will find the report extremely easily available - if you can't find the OFSTED report on the government website then you're unlikely to find a MN thread.

wildernessagogo · 04/05/2014 21:32

It'll be taken over by an Academy chain before you can say Michael Gove. I feel sorry for all concerned. Bloody long journey ahead for them.

TheGruffalo2 · 04/05/2014 21:32

I've just read the full report (serious work avoidance this evening) - KS2 takes the brunt of the criticism. EY & KS1 seem to be OK. Have they has a turn over of teachers, especially middle / senior leaders?

ReallyTired · 04/05/2014 21:35

I think that there are loads of schools in a category at the moment. Usually parents know that there is a problem long before OFSTED.

At least parents have a choice whether their little ones have school dinners or packed lunch. It would be intesting to see food hygiene ratings for our schools.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2014 21:41

This site does ratings and I found DS1's school on there.

spanieleyes · 04/05/2014 22:01

As far as I can tell, the school is a fairly recent amalgamation of an infant and junior school into one primary, with the infant head taking over the combined school. There have clearly been some problems with the resulting KS2 measures ( mind you, there always is as the KS2 results will be based on KS1 outcomes when it was an infant school-results which are notoriously high!!) and some serious work is going to be needed over the next few months-as you say an academy chain will probably already be hovering in the wings. Less than 2 years ago it was a "good" school.

TheGruffalo2 · 04/05/2014 22:28

Completely agree about an academy chain / sponsor waiting in the wings.

"Less than 2 years ago it was a "good" school." - It probably will be again in another 2 years, once the academy have swooped in ... Am I cynical much?
There are often concerns about KS1 Vs KS2 results, but it does identify that it is the KS2 ones that were not accurate.
