We applied for a primary 1 place at the school in our current zone. Which we have now been offered a place for.
However, we are moving in june. And have applied to the school in our new zone. This is where we want our son to go. However its a very popular school and i am under the impression that a place is not guaranteed there as we are moving into zone quite late.
My concern is that our new school doesnt offer a place and our old school says well you cant have a place here either as you are no longer in zone.
Could this happen??

You are allocated a place in your catchment on a particular day, generally in November. It doesn't matter if you move after that. Your new school is under no obligation to offer you a place as you were not in catchment on the qualifying date, however most will try. I'd call the council to check, and have a word with the new school.

I would contact the council to explain your situation. You should be able to get a school place in your new catchment area. You will need some proof of your new address to get a place in the new area - either a tenancy agreement or something from your solicitor if you are buying.
