Is two points one sub level?

As the title asked. I am working on sub levels as that is what the school provide, but then they refer to two points... Which I think equates to one sub level? With four being the average and two sub levels being the expected etc.

Thanks!

Also, are kids ' meant' to progress two sub levels per year? If a child had only made one sub level by this time of. The year would you be concerned?

2 points is a sub level, in secondary we look for 1.5 levels of progress for good over a key stage and 2levels of progress for outstanding in a key stage. No idea for primary though!

KS1- you would expect a whole level (6 points) over a year.

KS2- 2 sublevels or 4 points over a year.

I would he concerned if my child were in KS2 and had only made a sublevel- I would discuss it with the teacher, but there could he several different explanations.

Given you can't sub level a sub level, some children may well only have made one sublevel by now, and even that is arbitrary! There are still almost 3 months to go, sochildren could well make up the rest of the second sublevel between now and the end of JUly.

And actually a child who was just a 2c in September and is now a solid 2b has in fact made almost 2 sub levels in reality....just not on paper...

1.5 APS points = 1 sub level

In 2 years of KS2 average progress is 3 sub levels (one whole level)

It's all getting binned soon anyway!

I know, it's mad isn't it, how are we supposed to share information between schools if we are all working to different systems?
