Would everyone hate the 31st parents if you won an appeal??

Hypothetical as we haven't even decided whether to appeal or not!

But just wondering, would all the smug lucky parents who did a get a place resent the extra one who was admitted as a result of an appeal?

(This is typical of me, worrying that everyone would hate me in advance...)

Thank you all again for being so reassuring!

Loving the idea of 31 stone parents Grin

Omg 30+ children in a class. How common is this?!

MrsGrumpyPants · 29/04/2014 21:33

Not very I think, Sleepy. Infant class size appeals are highly unlikely to succeed, as by law they aren't supposed to go above 30 in a class. But if you can prove that errors were made and that you should have been offered a place, and the appeals panel agrees, then they can go higher

I was logging on to ask what happens in the 30+ class? Do they get extra teaching support eg an extra TA, or does everyone just muddle through?

No they don't get anything extra. My DS class has a teacher and a TA, this is the same whether there are 20 in the class (as when my dd started at the school) as when there are 31 in the class. In reality 31 isn't really that much different to 30 (I'm a teacher too so not just assuming this is the case Wink

In my school there was always 38-40 in a class and not a TA is sight. 31 is fine Grin
