what white board and where to get?

DD has said she would like a white board like in class....

Costco do them with the pens. I think they are about £15 - £20.

Does she mean a little one to hold in her hand, or the big one on the wall? You can get little ones very cheaply online or e.g. we got one that's perfectly functional for a couple of quid in morrisons.

You can get little ones in Rymans or online for less than a fiver.

The pound shop have them

If you have a laminator,just laminate a piece of A4 paper,and you can use dry wipe pens on it!

That is as long as it is the glossy pouches!

Staples do nice big ones which are magnetic too.

Um, how old is dd. you might need to check with her exactly what she means if you haven't already. Ds3 (7) wanted one for his last birthday. It turned out it was an interactive one he wanted. Not happening ds.

Pound shops sometimes have a4 size ones.

Make sure she also has a nice big old Tshirt of yours to wear when using it.

The pens do not come off. Dark winter uniform was ok, but I have several ruined summer school dresses.

I do hope she is only thinking of the ones for 'dry wipe' pens, and not the Interactive Computer ones, that are £1000 upwards! I guess a 'tablet' or similar would suffice though for the computer kind.

We have a biggish whiteboard in our kitchen on the wall . We all love it and we use it loads, both as a noticeboard/to do list/kids write stuff/we write stuff/informal parent-child "teaching" etc. DH bought it on Amazon for about £75. Expensive yes, used loads, yes, worth it, definitely!

They are shit and fall to bits straight away, they're a pound.
Pay a few £ more and should last a bit.

He is probably asking for an interactive whiteboard - like a giant I-pad fixed to the wall, not in poundland but you should be able to pick up a second hand one for £4,000!!!

Nocomet. Are you sure she was using drywipe pens??? They come off clothing really easily. They ink goes sort of powdery when you wipe it off the whiteboards ( the kids tend to clean them on the class carpet!!!)

Incidentally, if you accidently use marker pen on a whiteboard ,if you scribble over it with dry wipe pen it then wipe,it comes off a treat!

I got an A2 sized one with a pen and magnets from Wilkinsons for £4, and poundland do packs of 5 different coloured white board pens. (not that I waste ages colour coding messages and making them look pretty at all)

Interactive whiteboards have 'pens' that you 'wipe off' too!

Definitely white board pen, unfortunately it behaves very differently on fabric. The pigment sinks in and it's impossible to remove.
