it is really starting to hit me that this is it. we have been part of the primary school for ten years now and i can't believ that in 3 months i will never have cause to go there again.Sad

luckily ds is very excited about the prospect of secondary school-i hope he continues to feel this way.

i am worried about him as he is an end of august birthday and while he is perfectly able academically, he is quite sensitive emotionally.

we have sats coming up of course too...[wibble]

he copes socially-he has a good group of friends and has fun. it's more that he is not as ...resilient as he could be? i worry that he will be upset by small, silly things maybe?
i don't know-it's just a worry.

I work in dd's school. I worked there before she joined (it is a junior school so years 3 - 6)
Dd is my youngest, she has seen her older brother go off to our local secondary and thrive there. She can't wait to follow suit.

It will feel odd not to bump into her in the corridor etc. But she is more than ready to move on. She has a nice group of friends and more than two-thirds of them are going to the same secondary school she is (although the secondary is huge so they will be scattered wide within it)

In a way I feel it will be easier to work at the school as solely a member of staff. It has sometimes been a bit tricky to take off my colleague-hat and one my mother-hat... Smile

What I will miss is my lovely 3.15 pm chat with my fellow parents. It does feel very final...

ds seeming a lot happier purely because they have started a new topic and doing new, interesting stuff!
